Xiaomi's cars are a real success in China. In less than a year and a half of operation— 15 months, to be precise—it has already delivered 300,000 units to customers .
According to CarNewsChina, the tech brand has been making an average of 647 deliveries per day. Its first vehicle was the SU7 sedan, which debuted in December 2023 and was launched in March of last year.
This was followed by the sporty SU7 Ultra version, which went on sale last February, while last week - on July 6 - deliveries of the YU7 SUV began.
The aforementioned website reports that the first vehicle was delivered on April 3rd of last year. In other words, the 300,000-unit milestone was reached in about 15 months, just over a year. These figures demonstrate the success of the technology manufacturer's electric vehicles—which intends to sell 350,000 units this year alone , making it roughly halfway to its goal.
Internationalization
So far, Xiaomi Auto only operates in China. However, its ambitions are much greater, including reaching international markets in the not-too-distant future.
The expectation is to start making the leap at some point, not before 2027, according to CEO Lei Jun, quoted recently by Reuters.

Xiaomi's electric cars are not expected to reach international markets before 2027. Despite their great success in their home country, the brand is currently focused solely on the domestic market.
