Moto2: Celestino Vietti leads qualifying in Germany

This Friday (11) Moto2 held its qualifying session that defines the 14 riders who advance directly to Q2 in the classification for the German GP. The session was led by Italian Celestino Vietti with a time of 1min22s329 taking the lead in the final minutes, followed by Senna Agius with 1min22s459 and the championship leader, Manuel Gonzalez with 1min22s606.
Salač leads the early session with a solid lapAt the start of the session, Filip Salač took the lead with a time of 1:22.823 and remained in first place for much of the session. No one was able to challenge his time until the final 8 minutes, when the other drivers returned to the track for their flying laps. Even so, the Czech driver maintained his time and secured qualification for Q2, finishing the session in 7th place.
Qualifying was slower and more monotonous, with many drivers remaining in the pits for much of the session. The negative surprise came from championship leader Manuel Gonzalez and second-place finisher Aron Canet, who were outside the top 10 until the final 10 minutes.
Gonzalez and Canet react late on to secure a spot in Q2The Spanish drivers leading the championship saved the laps that secured their places in Q2 for last. Gonzalez, who was in 12th place, moved up to 3rd with a time of 1:22.600. Canet, who was in 14th, moved up to 5th with a time of 1:22.765, demonstrating why they are both at the top of the championship standings.
There were three crashes during the session. The first occurred at 28 minutes, with Adrián Huertas in sector 4 after losing control of his bike, which triggered the yellow flag. Salac then crashed at 18 minutes. Finally, with less than 10 minutes remaining, Eric Fernandez—a rookie who took over from the fired Sergio Garcia—also crashed, this time at Turn 1.
Vietti overcomes Agius in the final minutesWith eight minutes remaining in the session, Senna Agius set the fastest lap with a time of 1:22.450 and took the lead. However, he was soon overtaken by Celestino Vietti, who took the lead, followed by Gonzalez in third. Marcos Ramirez finished fourth with a time of 1:22.749, just ahead of the championship runner-up, Aron Canet, who clocked a time of 1:22.765.
Diogo Moreira fails to improve his time and goes to Q1All the drivers on the track were improving their times, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case for Diogo Moreira. The Brazilian managed to set a fast lap with less than three minutes remaining, but couldn't improve on his time, recording a time of 1:22.980 and finishing only 16th. As a result, he'll have to compete in Q1 in Saturday's qualifying.
