The new MG IM5 and IM6 have already made their debut. The brand's two new electric cars were launched this Thursday at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The IM5 is a four-door executive, while the MG IM6 is an SUV, under the designation IM ('Intelligent in Motion').
According to product and planning director David Allison, the IM5 Long Range has a 100 kWh battery, providing a range of around 709 km/h. Charging from 10 to 80 percent can be completed in just 17 minutes. It is also known that the MG IM5 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, increasing that time to 3.5 seconds for the IM6.
The Hurricane engines have 553 kW of power and 802 Nm of torque. MG has included Continental braking systems. There's also Hydroplaning Stability Control.
Inside, you'll find a large 26.3-inch infotainment screen, a 10.5-inch touchscreen, a retractable sunroof, a wireless charging pad for mobile devices, and 20 speakers. The driver's seat is 12-way adjustable and ventilated, while the passenger's seat is six-way adjustable.
Among the technologies of both models are Rainy Night Mode and One Touch Park Assist parking assistance with 360º cameras.
Thanks to rear-wheel steering, the IM5 and IM6 are easier to drive in cities. The power-assisted steering system, supported by Momenta, improves safety, comfort, and handling.
Even without revealing many of the specifications, MG announced 75 kWh and 100 kWh battery options, with prices starting at the equivalent of around €33,734 and €38,475, respectively.
The IM6 has a 100 kWh Long Range version starting at around 41,042 euros, a Performance version (43,607 euros) and an exclusive Launch Edition (45,317 euros).
