This Friday (11), MotoGP held free practice for the German Grand Prix, valid for the 11th stage of the season and the first race of the double round of the Motorcycle World Championship. Marc Márquez dominated the session from start to finish, improving his times with each lap and scored 1:20:372. Jack Miller and Marco Bezzecchi closed the top-3 with 1:20:481 and 1:20:687 respectively.

Favorable history and family rivalry heat up the German GP

The German circuit is dominated by Marc Márquez, who has already won seven times at the track. Furthermore, it was precisely last year that the venue marked an unprecedented feat: the first podium finish shared by the Márquez brothers. Expectations for this weekend are high, as the Spaniards arrive as the championship leader and runner-up, promising another exciting chapter in the family rivalry.

Free practice began with Pedro Acosta setting the first time, which then changed as the other drivers took to the track and did their fast laps.

At 38 minutes, Marc Márquez took the lead in the session with a fast lap of 1:20.749, where he remained for much of the session, managing to further reduce his time to 1:20.372. His brother, Álex Márquez from Gresini, who is returning after hand surgery, had difficulties: he was in 14th position and went to the pits with problems with his bike.

A similar situation occurred with Fermín Aldeguer, Álex's teammate, who also had to go to the pits due to difficulties with the bike's pace, while he was in 17th place.

The pace of the leading Ducati was strong, with both riders at the top, with Marc repeating his dominance this season and his teammate Francesco Bagnaia in third place. Fabio Di Giannantonio, also riding the GP-25, set the sixth fastest time with a 1:20.014.

The surprise, on the other hand, was Fabio Quartararo's strong pace, who at one point in the session set his best time and moved up to second place. In the end, the French driver clocked 1:21:016 and finished in eighth place.

The session was also marked by crashes. At 25 minutes, Johann Zarco crashed at Turn 1 shortly after setting his fastest lap, resulting in a yellow flag and forfeiting him for the remainder of the session. In the final minutes, Pedro Acosta also crashed, this time in Sector 2.

MotoGP returns this Saturday at 5:50 am for qualifying with broadcast on ESPN 4 and Disney +.
