Moto E: Zaccone takes pole at Le Mans, first round of 2025

On Friday morning (9), Italian Alessandro Zaccone was the fastest in qualifying for the first stage of the 2025 MotoE season and secured pole position for the double round in France. Eric Granado came in second, just 0s009 behind the leader. Oscar Gutierrez completes the front row of the starting line, after a good performance in the final phase of qualifying.
Ferrari and Mantovani advance after Q1 red flag
In the initial phase of qualifying (Q1), Matteo Ferrari was the fastest, with 1min40s079, followed by Andrea Mantovani, who clocked 1min40s219. The session, however, was interrupted with 1min30 remaining by a red flag, triggered after a heavy accident involving Luca Bernardini, who crashed at the entrance to the chicane.
With the interruption, the race management opted not to restart the session, classifying Ferrari and Mantovani directly for Q2.
Casadei's fall and Zaccone's turnaround in Q2
In Q2, Mattia Casadei crashed on the first lap and nearly involved Eric Granado at Turn 3. Oscar Gutierrez was the first to set a time, setting a time of 1:40.432. With four minutes remaining, Granado took the lead with a fine lap of 1:39.554.
However, Alessandro Zaccone managed to be even faster and took the lead with 1min39s545. Granado tried to react, but was unable to improve his time, finishing in second.
MotoE returns this Saturday (10), with the first race scheduled for 7 am (Brasília time). Later, at 11:15 am, the second race of the French Grand Prix will be held at the Le Mans circuit.
