"In April, the Mobi.E network registered around 665,000 top-ups, which represents an increase of 48% compared to the same month last year, which were carried out by more than 115,500 different users, a number never before reached in a single month and an increase of 52% compared to the same period last year", explains the company in a statement.

Energy consumption rose 63% compared to the same month last year, to 14.7 gigawatt-hours (GWh).

In the document, the public company created in 2015 and tasked by the Government with creating a market for electric mobility, detailed that, on average, 22,176 charges were made per day, an increase compared to 21,602 charges in the previous month.

Since the beginning of the year, the number of top-ups has grown by 48% year-on-year, to 2.5 million, distributed among around 200,000 unique users.

In April, the public charging network consisted of 6,193 stations -- or 11,517 charging points --, of which 2,360 (or 38.1%) were fast or ultra-fast charging.

Mobi.E adds that the network's power was greater than 382,922 kW, "exceeding that required by the European regulation for the creation of an infrastructure for alternative fuels (AFIR)", which establishes that there must be a power of 1.3 kW for each 100% electric vehicle and 0.8 kW for each 'plug-in' hybrid vehicle.

The company also recorded that there are currently, on average, 94 sockets for every 100 kilometers of highway and 127 sockets for every 100,000 inhabitants.
