Alpine A290 Rallye debuts at Goodwood Festival

Alpine is present at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed with several new models. One of them is the Alpine A290 Rallye , which made its dynamic debut on the legendary Hillclimb this Thursday (July 10).

Announced a few weeks ago, this is a modified version of the A290, celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Renault group's sports brand.

The Rallye version's specific setup includes an electric motor with 220 hp and 300 Nm of torque. It features front-wheel drive, a ZF limited-slip differential, and upgrades to the electronics and gearbox.

The chassis is the same as the standard Alpine A290, but a dedicated suspension with ALP Racing Suspension dampers has been added. The braking system includes 350mm discs and six-piston monobloc calipers at the front and 280mm discs and single-piston calipers at the rear. Competition-grade ABS is also included. Special 8x18 EVO Corse wheels are fitted.

The new Alpine A290 Rallye took center stage at the start of its Goodwood Festival run. But it wasn't the manufacturer's only model on display at the Goodwood Hillclimb.

The Alpenglow H6 , a hydrogen showcar, was also present, showcasing the potential of its 740 hp 3.5-liter V6 biturbo engine powered by hydrogen.

The A110 R Ultimate was another car making its dynamic debut in the UK, along with Alpine's first sports fastback, the A390 . It is expected to launch in the UK in 2026. Alongside this electric car, the A290 and A110 were also brought to Goodwood.
