On the occasion of the brand's centenary in Argentina, Chevrolet announces the start of pre-sales for the new 2026 Captiva PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid) , the brand's first hybrid SUV to be sold in South America. With a combined range of over 1,000 kilometers, the Captiva PHEV is positioned as one of the most innovative and sustainable options on the market.
The 2026 Captiva PHEV follows the successful launch of the 100% electric Chevrolet Spark EUV in a market that is rapidly evolving toward more efficient, technologically advanced, versatile, and reliable alternatives.

“The return of the Captiva to our market, now in a plug-in hybrid version, marks a milestone in our electrification strategy in the region. Argentina will be the first market in Latin America to receive this model, underscoring our commitment to the use of new energy vehicles (NEVs) that support our vision of triple-zero sustainable mobility. Our after-sales network is ready to support this transformation and safeguard the investments of our customers seeking innovation and safety in mobility,” highlighted Andrés Carfagna, Commercial Director of GM Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay .

The electric motor is powered by a lithium iron phosphate battery , which, in addition to being charged by the combustion engine, can also be powered by external sources via a CCS2 direct current fast charger or connected to alternating current (household electricity) with a power of up to 6.6 kW. This powertrain is paired with a single-speed DHT (Dedicated Hybrid Transmission) automatic transmission with Auto Hold, and the vehicle is front-wheel drive.
