Changan plans to build factory in Europe

Chinese automaker Changan plans to build a factory in Europe "We are committed to being in Europe, making in Europe for Europe. We are working on local manufacturing solutions here," said Nic Thomas, Changan's European marketing, sales and service manager. Thomas said he could not speak to the timing for a European assembly plant, but added, "we believe we will already reach volume, so we are already in the planning stages." Changan said in March it plans to enter 10 markets in Europe this year with electric vehicles. Changan sold 600,000 vehicles outside China last year and aims to increase that number to 1 million this year, Thomas said.
