Tesla continues to decline: Deliveries down 13.5 percent in Q2

Tesla has announced vehicle production and delivery data for the second quarter of 2025. Accordingly, the company produced 410,244 vehicles in the second quarter of this year. Tesla produced 410,831 vehicles in the same period in 2024. The number of vehicles Tesla delivered in the second quarter of the year also decreased by 13.5 percent on an annual basis, falling to 384,122. Thus, the number of deliveries has decreased on an annual basis for the second quarter in a row. The company delivered 443,956 vehicles in the same quarter last year. THE COMPANY’S SHARES HAVE DECLINED NEARLY 26 PERCENT THIS YEAR Tesla, which competes with Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers that especially have affordable models, has also faced political backlash against its CEO Elon Musk . Musk, who played a role in the administration of President Donald Trump, whom he supported in last year’s elections in the USA, later fell out with Trump due to his criticism that the “tax cut” bill would increase the budget deficit. Trump stated this week that if it weren’t for government incentives, Musk “would have had to close up shop and go back to South Africa” and said that the subsidies Musk’s companies receive should be examined. Tesla shares have fallen nearly 26 percent this year as of yesterday’s closing price, showing the worst performance among the “Magnificent Seven.”
