Xpeng presents its plans for smart mobility at IAA Mobility

Xpeng returns to the IAA Mobility in Munich, showcasing the latest developments in electric vehicles and AI-powered mobility. It also highlights its presence in the European market.
Xpeng P7 demonstrates brand intentions
The P7 is the brand's latest model for the mainland, and its importance was explained by Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng: "With the new P7, we are showing users around the world how AI can transform the car into a smart and warm assistant. This model demonstrates our full-stack AI capabilities , developed in-house."
With no release date yet for the Portuguese market, the P7 is a sports sedan with 593 hp, capable of reaching 230 km/h (144 mph) and a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration time of 3.7 seconds. It recently broke the durability record for mass-production electric vehicles, covering 3,961 km (2,400 miles) in 24 hours.
Europe is essential for Xpeng
Later this month, Xpeng will open its R&D Center in Munich, Germany, its first in Europe. The center aims to "foster innovation in AI-powered mobility and collaborate closely with European drivers." He Xiaopeng highlighted the investment in "smart and sustainable mobility experiences for global users."
Xpeng's strategy is largely focused on Europe. In addition to the new location in Bavaria, growth is already being seen in premium electric vehicle sales among Chinese manufacturers. And the goal is to continue global expansion, emphasized Brian Gu, vice chairman and president of Xpeng.
At IAA Mobility, five Xpeng models are on display, including the P7+, which has not yet reached the European market. The brand claims it is "the world's first AI-defined vehicle."
Level 4 autonomous driving
Xpeng's central computing and zone control architecture supports AI, which aims to mass-produce Level 4 autonomous vehicles by next year. It has an NGP intelligent driving system, Turing AI Driving, which is already being adapted for the global market. In China, it will have its own robotaxi service.
