Toyota has confirmed the launch of the Yaris Cross for October of this year. However, the model is expected to be unveiled to the general public at the event. The new compact and hybrid conventional flex-fuel SUV, which will be produced in Sorocaba, São Paulo, is part of the R$11.5 billion investment announced in March 2024.

In terms of size, the model will be 4.3 m long, 1.77 m wide, 1.61 m high and have a 2.62 m wheelbase – almost the size of a Hyundai Creta (4.33 x 1.79 m x 1.63 m x 2.61 m).

The engine, in turn, is similar to that of its larger brother, the Corolla Cross, which includes an electric motor and a 1.5-liter 16v naturally aspirated engine. In total, Toyota estimates a combined output of approximately 113 hp.

With its debut scheduled for 2025 in the domestic market and confirmed for the 2025 International Auto Show, Leapmotor , a Chinese brand owned by Stellantis, has already begun bringing its cars to Brazil. The first to debut will be the C10 SUV, followed by the B10, its smaller sibling.

To give you an idea, the C10 is medium-sized, measuring 4.74 m in length, 1.90 m in width, 1.68 m in height and 2.82 m in wheelbase.

One of the C10's distinguishing features will be two engine options, which Stellantis has already announced it will import to Brazil. The first is fully electric, producing just under 300 hp after improvements to the Chinese 2026 model year (previously 228 hp). This version offers a range of 605 km (378 miles) using the Chinese CLTC cycle.

The other is an extended-range electric model, modeled on the late BMW i3 and i8. It gives the C10 a distinct advantage in the market: a range of 1,020 km (CLTC), or 970 km according to the European WLTP cycle, and all-electric drive. In reality, it houses a small 1.5-liter gasoline engine under the hood, which operates solely as a generator, charging the 28.4 kWh traction batteries. These, in turn, supply power to the electric motor driving the rear wheels, generating 218 hp and 32.6 kgf/230 lb-ft of torque.

Earlier this year, during a visit to BYD 's Explorer No. 1 ship, which was docked in Aracruz, Espírito Santo, the automaker showed off two largely undisguised FangChengBao 5s. It's an SUV from its luxury sub-brand, but it's expected to arrive here under the name Denza B5, at least that's what the car's description said.

The model resembles a Mercedes G-Class or even a Defender , with its straight lines and a spare tire at the rear. The measuring tape shows it's 4.89 m long, which is similar to the German model. In China, the engine is a hybrid and features 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter engines. They can generate up to 700 hp, allowing the SUV to go from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.8 seconds.

The interior follows the exterior's rectilinear design, which can be seen in the dashboard and air conditioning vents. There's a flat-bottom steering wheel with controls. The panoramic sunroof. There are three screens: a 12.3-inch screen that serves as the instrument panel; the 15.6-inch multimedia center; and a 12.3-inch screen for the front passenger.

One piece of information that has been gaining momentum behind the scenes is that of a mid-compact pickup truck from BYD, which would be revealed during the 2025 Auto Show.

The model was supposed to compete with the Fiat Toro and Chevrolet Montana. Currently, the brand operates in the Brazilian market with the Shark, a hybrid mid-size pickup truck.

Confirmed on the list of brands at the Auto Show, MG Motor is another company that will launch models in the coming months in Brazil. Although British, it is currently owned by the Chinese group SAIC.

One of the vehicles being considered and which has already appeared in photos on social media running in Brazil is the MG4 , a sporty electric hatchback.

What will the Auto Show be like?

In total, the 2025 edition of the show promises to bring together more than 300 models on display, in addition to featuring test drives and other experiences spread across five pavilions.
