MotoE: Matteo Ferrari wins race 2 at the San Marino GP; Eric Granado is 2nd

On Saturday morning (13), Matteo Ferrari won the second MotoE race at the San Marino GP. The race marked the penultimate stage of the season and took place amidst the category's farewell atmosphere, as the FIM (International Motorcycling Federation) and Dorna announced this week the suspension of the MotoE World Championship after 2025.
How was the race?
The race was marked by intense battles for the lead and incidents in the opening laps. Eric Granado, who started in pole position, lost the lead to Alessio Zaccone and Andrea Mantovani in the first corner. The Brazilian quickly regained second place, but came under pressure from Mantovani, while Zaccone tried to open up a gap. Also on the opening lap, Jordi Torres and Tibor Varga crashed in the third sector of the circuit.
Mantovani then also crashed, taking Spinelli with him. Despite the fall, Mantovani rejoined the track, finishing last, while the leading pack of six riders followed closely behind, constantly swapping positions.
Four laps in, Granado managed to overtake Zaccone with a beautiful maneuver and took the lead. Ferrari, however, joined the fight and a few laps later, overtook Zaccone and charged the Brazilian. The battle for victory heated up the final corners. Granado and Ferrari traded positions on more than one occasion, with the Italian only getting the better of it in the final moments, securing a thrilling victory in front of the home crowd.
Eric Granado crossed the finish line in second place, capping a brilliant performance and playing a key role in the spectacular battle for the lead at Misano. Race one champion Mattia Casadei rounded out the podium in third, while Zaccone finished fourth after losing performance late on.
