Hyundai Tucson 1.6 turbo costs less than Creta 1.0 on sale

The good old Tucson, launched in Brazil about eight years ago and manufactured in Anápolis, Goiás, is on sale. In reality, the midsize SUV faces an uncertain future, as its production was based at the CAOA plant, which recently ended its partnership with Hyundai in Brazil. With "separated parents," the Tucson reportedly ceased production in April, according to sources inside the factory. Hyundai denies this.

In any case, despite its uncertain fate, the model is on sale. On Hyundai's special offers website , it's being offered with a R$15,000 bonus: a R$10,000 reduction in the list price (from R$199,500 to R$189,500), plus a R$5,000 discount if another used car is included in the deal. With all the reductions, the Tucson ends up costing R$184,500, or R$5,000 cheaper than a Creta N Line 1.0 turboflex. The units are 2024/2025, and the offer lasts until September 3rd.
Sold in a single Limited trim level, it uses the same 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine as the more expensive Creta, but in a more subdued configuration: 177 hp and 270 Nm of torque, managed through a seven-speed dual-clutch automated transmission. Hyundai claims a 0-100 km/h time of 9.1 seconds, with a top speed of approximately 200 km/h.

Compared to the Creta, considered a compact, the mid-size Tucson features four-wheel independent suspension, a multi-link rear axle, and four disc brakes—refined solutions for its price. It also has a larger fuel tank, at 62 liters (50 liters for the Creta), which gives the model on sale greater range. Its trunk is also generous, with 513 liters of capacity.
As standard, there are 18-inch diamond-cut wheels, LED headlights and taillights, panoramic sunroof, leather seats, twilight sensor, front seats with electrical adjustments, dual-zone automatic digital air conditioning, 9-inch multimedia system, front and rear parking sensors, rearview camera, trunk lid with electrical opening and closing, electromechanical handbrake with Auto Hold function, folding exterior mirrors, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and tire pressure monitor (TPMS).
