Hyundai debuts at gamescom with the Insteroid concept car

This year, Hyundai is participating for the first time in gamescom in Cologne (Germany), and is also the first car manufacturer with an individual space in the Retro & Family Area of ​​the event dedicated to video games.

There, the South Korean manufacturer will showcase the Hyundai Insteroid concept car, but will also be making a foray into video games with the Insteroid Retro Arcade. This game "combines vintage gaming with automotive innovation."

Hyundai Insteroid

The Hyundai Insteroid is a concept model based on the already available all-electric Hyundai Inster. It was first unveiled last March.

Its design is inspired by video games, featuring air vents in the wheel arches, a rear spoiler, and a diffuser as some of its highlights. The headlights are signature Pixel LEDs.

The Hyundai Insteroid serves as the basis for the Insteroid Retro Arcade game, featuring a classic arcade machine format. The concept car is the main character, and the audiovisual elements are inspired by the car's user experience designs. It's a game inspired by classic maze games, in which the player must escape villains and score points.

Also at gamescom, the Asian manufacturer is offering to engage players, whose images can be used as in-game characters during their participation. They'll also be able to experience the Hyundai Insteroid user experience.
