What is the RS Q8 Performance like?

The large SUV received a mid-life visual facelift, following its "conventional" Q8 sibling, which was updated in 2024. The changes primarily focus on the new front bumper, mostly finished in gloss black with more air intakes, while the grille receives three-dimensional elements. At the rear, two oval exhaust outlets, with a new diffuser between them. The interior features redesigned finishes and details, combining brushed aluminum, special leather RS seats, and Alcantara (suede) trim.

Lamborghini engine

Betting on the motto of "sportiness with versatility," it boasts a powerful 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 gasoline engine, similar to the Lamborghini Urus. It delivers 640 hp at 6,000 rpm, proving to be a V8 that delivers its peak at lower revs, and a brutal 86.7 kgf/4.8 lb-ft of torque from 2,300 rpm. The transmission is an eight-speed automatic, while the all-wheel drive is permanent (quattro).

The powertrain allows the luxury sports SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just 3.6 seconds, as well as reach a top speed of 280 km/h (electronically limited). If desired, owners can also purchase an optional upgrade that increases the top speed to 305 km/h (190 mph).

The RS Q8 weighs more than turbodiesel midsize pickups like the Hilux, Ranger, or S10, but it still delivers breathtaking performance. One of the reasons for this is the twin-turbo "V8tão," the most powerful combustion engine ever produced by Audi Sport, the German brand's sports division. The exhaust system is new and lighter, enhancing the powerplant's sound.

And, since everything that accelerates must stop, the big sports car comes standard with ventilated brakes with ceramic discs. It's quite big: it's over 5 meters long, over 2 meters wide (not counting rearview mirrors), and has a wheelbase of no less than 3 meters (a Fiat Mobi has 3.6 meters from bumper to bumper), and is 1.70 meters tall. The trunk holds 605 liters.

Technologies
