Monterey Car Week served as the stage for the North American unveiling of the new Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale . It's a highly exclusive car from the Italian brand, with only 33 units being produced—and all are already reserved. The price tag is over one and a half million euros .
At least one of the copies has already reached its owner , as we reported in December last year.
The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is a car inspired by the 1967 Tipo 33 Stradale , considered "one of the most beautiful cars ever." It was hand-built at Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera.
Speed above 330 km/h
Announced in 2023, the car comes in two trim levels. One features a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine capable of delivering 630 hp . It's rear-wheel drive. There's also a 100 percent electric variant with over 750 hp and a range of 450 km (288 miles) in the WLTP cycle. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) takes less than three seconds, while the top speed is 333 km/h (209 mph).
It features a brake-by-wire system and carbon-ceramic brake discs. The car was developed with input from Alfa Romeo's Centro Stile, drawing on engineering expertise gained in Formula 1. It features a carbon fiber monocoque, active suspension, and butterfly doors.
The roof is made of carbon fiber and aluminum. Carbon fiber is also used in the window frames, while the rear window is made of polycarbonate.
The driver can choose between two driving modes: Strada, designed for the road, prioritizes comfort and fun; and Pista, which is geared towards the track and provides all the adrenaline the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale has to offer. Fast Start launch control is activated by a Quadrifoglio button on the center tunnel.
Inside, you'll find a minimalist cabin with a classic, button-free steering wheel. The cockpit is reminiscent of an airplane and uses materials such as aluminum, carbon fiber, leather, and Alcantara. Each Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is unique and tailored to the customer's specifications.
The American debut of the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale
At Monterey Car Week, the 33 Stradale made its North American debut at the Monterey Jet Center, among classic cars and airplanes. It was displayed at the Laguna Seca racetrack alongside three other models from the brand (Giulia, Stelvio, and Tonale), and was also featured among many famous cars at 'The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering.'
Meanwhile, at an event at Hagerty House, Alfa Romeo hosted an intimate conversation with Cristiano Fiorio, Alfa Romeo's global director of marketing and design, and Glynn Bloomquist, a customer of the limited-edition model in the United States. There, they discussed each customer's collaboration with the Alfa Romeo design team on personalizing their cars.
