The handcrafted mountain bike for adventures in nature

Gravel and adventure cycling have been gaining ground in our country for some time now. More and more mountain cyclists, or those who simply enjoy the pleasure of riding on roads away from traffic, are looking for robust, versatile bikes that can adapt to any terrain.

In this context, the historic British brand Pashley, with nearly a century of experience, presents its latest offering: the Wildfinder, a handcrafted bicycle that combines traditional techniques with cutting-edge technological solutions. This attractive bicycle is not mass-produced and was born in the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon, Shakespeare's birthplace, where Pashley has been designing and building bicycles since 1926.

The Wildfinder's frame is handcrafted from Reynolds 853 DZB steel tubing, a material renowned for its strength and excellent vibration absorption. Unlike aluminum or carbon fiber, which are lighter but also weaker in extreme conditions, steel provides a sturdy, solid feel that many adventure riders appreciate, especially when traveling with luggage.

One of the most unique aspects of its design is the connection between the top tube, rear tubes, and seat tube, which uses 3D printing technology. This allows for precise and robust geometry in a key area of the frame, improving both the bike's rigidity and dynamic performance.

The frame also features an internal anti-corrosion treatment and a powder-coated finish to ensure durability, even in extreme conditions of humidity, mud, or salt.

If the Wildfinder makes one thing clear, it's its vocation for off-road riding. To achieve this, it can be fitted with 27.5-inch wheels with tires up to 2.8 inches wide, ideal for more technical or demanding mountain terrain. Or if you prefer a more versatile option for smooth gravel rides, there's the option of 29-inch wheels with tires up to 2.6 inches.

Furthermore, its structure allows for the installation of a rigid steel fork or a suspension with up to 100 mm of travel, which greatly expands its range of uses. As for its components, Pashley offers several 12-speed drivetrain options from premium brands, such as Shimano SLX and GRX or SRAM Rival and GX, with gearing designed to tackle steep slopes even when loaded. Shimano models allow a cassette with up to 51 teeth, ensuring traction even on steep climbs or rocky trails.

You can also customize your setup with different brakes, a dropper post, and even a choice of flat or road handlebars, depending on your riding style. For stage adventure enthusiasts, another attraction is the wide range of mounts that allow you to install front and rear panniers, frame bags, bottle cages, and other accessories.

The Pashley Wildfinder starts at €2,195 for the frame only, and reaches €3,595 for the complete version, with more advanced configurations increasing the final cost. Each unit is built to order, with a delivery time of approximately 12 weeks.
