Cities are changing, and with them, so are the vehicles on their streets. With electrification on the rise and the need to reduce traffic and emissions, the new generation of electric microcars is becoming a very attractive alternative for urban mobility among young people.

In this regard, the new company Astraux has unveiled the AL6, an urban electric microcar designed for all audiences that seeks to revolutionize the future of urban mobility and the user experience of this type of vehicle.

The manufacturer, which until now was known for having developed a curious interactive pocket robot called Aimon (a kind of Tamagotchi with Artificial Intelligence), is now making the leap into the automotive sector by designing a groundbreaking range of ultra-compact urban cars at a price starting at 5,990 euros for its entry-level AL6 model and up to 9,990 euros for the top version, the AL7 Pro.

Produced in China, the AL6 model stands out for its price and performance, highlighting its range, connectivity, and entertainment focus. Built on a steel chassis with a monocoque body, it features large windows and a panoramic roof, and boasts a design 100% geared toward urban mobility.

In its most powerful version, the AL7 Pro features a 10 kW (13.4 hp) motor on the rear axle and reaches a top speed of 90 km/h (56 mph), more than enough for navigating around town and on ring roads. Its curb weight is just 510 kg (1,100 lb), making it a very lightweight vehicle.

The range varies depending on the version, from 80 km in the AL6 to 150 km in the AL7 Pro, thanks to a 10.5 kWh battery. But what truly stands out about this microcar is its on-board experience, with a cabin designed to appeal to young audiences and featuring multiple entertainment options. With room for two passengers, it includes, among other things, a projector that allows the car to be converted into an arcade with karaoke, cinema, and video games.

The vehicle's exterior and interior aesthetics are minimalist. The white dashboard is clear and features few buttons and a steering wheel that resembles a go-kart's rather than a conventional car. It features clever storage solutions and smartphone and tablet holders.

Many are already comparing this model to the Swiss Microlino, the modern reinterpretation of the BMW Isetta. However, there is one key difference: the price. The Microlino costs almost twice as much as the AL7 Pro, giving Astraux a clear advantage in terms of affordability. The young brand was present at the recent IFA trade fair in Berlin.
