Rally di Roma Capitale 2025, Basso and Granai win

The XIII Rally di Roma Capitale was won by the pair formed by Giandomenico Basso and Lorenzo Granai aboard the Skoda Fabia RS Rally2. The two triumphed after a tight race against the crew composed of Andrea Crugnola and Pietro Ometto on Citroen C3, who had to give up the first position following a 20" penalty when they were leading with a 2.5" advantage, before finishing in fifth place. This is the third triumph of the season for the Basso-Granai duo and the third victory in the race in the eternal city. Completing the podium of this event valid for the CIAR Sparco and the FIA ​​European Rally Championship are the crews Mabellini-Lenzi and Marczyk-Gospodarczyk, both on Skoda Fabia RS. At the foot of the podium is the pair Daprà-Guglielmetti, also on the Rally2 car of the Czech manufacturer. At the end of this appointment, with only two races left in the season, the CIAR Sparco standings see the Basso-Granai duo even more firmly at the top with a 19-point advantage over the Crugnola-Ometto duo.

Among other results, we note the third place in the CIRP of Bostjan Avbeji, which allowed him to win, with two events to spare, for the second time, the Italian Rally Promozione Championship. While Simone Di Giovanni, navigated by Andrea Colapietro, aboard the Peugeot 208, triumphed, among the cars of the Italian Absolute Two-Wheel Drive Rally Championship in a podium completed by the crews composed of Gianandrea Pisani and Nicola Biagi, and Andrea Mazzocchi and Nicolò Gonella, who raced on a Lancia Ypsilon Rally4 HF. Pisani himself, moreover, won the two stages of the rally valid for the Lancia Trophy and jumped to the lead of the Italian championship reserved for two-wheel drive cars following the retirement of his rival Pesavento after the Colosseum special stage. For the ACI Sport cups, the under 25 classification saw the success of Daprà, among the over 55s the home driver Fabio Angelucci triumphed, and finally the first female crew was the one made up of Rachele Somaschini and Giulia Zanchetta.
