Geely lands in Italy with Jameel Motors and debuts with the EX5 electric SUV and a Super hybrid

ROME - Geely Auto officially lands in Italy and chooses Jameel Motors as a partner for the distribution of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. The agreement marks the entry of the two international players into the Italian sustainable mobility market. Leading this operation is Marco Santucci, an Italian manager with extensive experience in the automotive sector, previously at the top of Jaguar Land Rover Italia, Toyota and international experiences with Ford.
The commercial debut is scheduled for the end of 2025 with two strategic models: the 100% electric Geely EX5 and a plug-in Super-Hybrid SUV. Both will offer high technology, safety, performance and a six-year warranty, aiming to meet the growing Italian demand for new energy vehicles (NEV).
Jameel Motors Italia plans to develop a network of about 100 sales and service points throughout the country. The operation is part of a broader European strategy, which began with the entry into Poland and is strengthened by the presence in Milan of the Geely Innovation Design Center, where the brand develops projects with Italian designers for the European market.

“The combination of Geely technology and Jameel Motors’ customer-first approach allows us to offer real value to the market,” said Marco Santucci, managing director of Jameel Motors Italy. “In a changing context, flexibility and listening will be crucial to building lasting relationships with customers.”
According to 2025 data from the European Alternative Fuels Observatory, Italy is among the most dynamic NEV markets in Europe: in the first five months of 2025, in fact, registrations of electric and plug-in hybrids in our country reached 11% of the total, with an increase of 132% compared to the same period of the previous year. It is precisely in this scenario that the agreement between Geely and Jameel Motors, chosen at the end of an international selection, fits in.

Geely Auto, present in over 80 countries with approximately 2.17 million vehicles sold in 2024, is a global leader in intelligent driving. The company constantly invests in technology (including Intelligent Vehicle AI) and design, and is at the top in ESG ratings. And it controls several famous automotive brands, including Volvo Cars, Polestar, Lotus, Lynk & Co, Zeekr, London Electric Vehicle Company and Smart (in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz). In addition, Geely holds stakes in Proton and also has other smaller brands and joint ventures in the automotive sector and beyond.
Jameel Motors, active in over 10 countries across the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Europe and Australia, distributes some of the world's best-known car brands and aims to become a point of reference in Italy in the electric mobility segment.
