Ferrari Amalfi, the new 640 HP 8V berlinetta unveiled. All the features

MARANELLO – Ferrari launches the Amalfi, the heir to the Roma, a 2+ berlinetta with a sculpted and modern shape, capable of combining elegance and performance. Another Gran Turismo with two souls, as Maranello’s chief marketing officer, Enrico Galliera, underlined when presenting it: “A sports car to live every day, to go for an aperitif or to have fun taking a couple of bends behind the house”, characterized, in addition to the classic colors and the Arctic White, by the Costiera Green color, a clear tribute to the town of Amalfi and which evokes light, sea, elegance.

Under the hood is the 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 with 640 horsepower (20 more than the Roma) at 7,500 rpm and 760 Nm of maximum torque in the central-front position, an evolution of the award-winning F154 engine, with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. "We didn't put the V6 because here the V8 is the perfect choice," explained chief product officer Gianmaria Fulgenzi. The declared performance is worthy of a GT: 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, 0-200 in 9 seconds flat, a top speed of 320 km/h and a record weight-to-power ratio (2.29 kg/hp). And for Fulgenzi the great result achieved is the elasticity and fluidity with which the power manifests itself to maximize driving pleasure: “We worked on the flat crankshaft, on the turbochargers, on the management of the supercharging and in the end the engine seems to have many more horsepower than the 20 it actually has compared to the Roma”.

But the new Ferrari Amalfi is not just numbers. “We listened to customers,” said Galliera. Here, then, is the return of the double cockpit, physical buttons on the steering wheel and the mechanical start button and a three-display HMI (human-machine interface) system, with a 15.6” instrument panel, a 10.25” central touch screen and an 8.8” passenger display. All enclosed in an essential but refined cockpit, with fine materials and extensive use of leather, where a suspended central tunnel in anodized aluminum milled from solid makes its debut, with the classic “gate” and wireless charging and massaging seats with 10 air pockets.

The design is obviously by Flavio Manzoni: “We were inspired by the lesson of the great Italian masters. We removed, removed, removed, to get to the essence”, underlined the chief design officer of the Cavallino. The compact and dry tail recalls Ferrari tradition, but the language is techno-chic: sculpted surfaces, monolithic shark nose without front grille and a floating band that integrates headlights and sensors.
On the dynamic front, the brake-by-wire system debuts combined with ABS Evo, Side Slip Control 6.1 and new active aerodynamics: the rear spoiler adjusts automatically based on driving style, generating up to 110 kg of downforce at 250 km/h with minimal drag increase. The new Ferrari V8 has the dimensions of a berlinetta, well-proportioned: 466 cm long, 197 cm wide, a dry weight of 1,470 kg and an 80-litre fuel tank.

The Amalfi mounts beautiful 20” wheels with self-ventilating spokes and Pirelli P Zero or Bridgestone Potenza Sport tires and carbon-ceramic brakes (390 mm in front). The infotainment is complete: Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and wireless charging. And for those looking for acoustic excellence, there is the 1,200 Watt Burmester system with 14 speakers. Although the real sound remains that of the Maranello V8, managed by a new bypass valve to adapt the sound to different driving conditions.
“It is not a simple restyling of the Roma, it is a completely new Ferrari”, reiterated Fulgenzi, born in the name of beauty, essentiality and performance. Without compromise. “A Hypercar in an evening dress”, concluded Galliera.
Available in Europe in early 2026, the Amalfi starts at a price of 240,000 euros.
