New Kove 800X Rally: A lightweight mid-size trail bike with high off-road performance

Kove aims to turn the mid-high displacement trail bike segment upside down with its new 800X Rally , an even more radical and off-road focused version than the 800X Pro, as it incorporates long-travel suspensions and ultra-light components, achieving a power-to-weight ratio that is the leader in its segment.

Following the brand's "Focus on performance" approach, work has been done to lighten the bike with high-quality components and create a chassis with greater off-road capabilities.

On the mechanical side, the 799 cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 8-valve parallel twin-cylinder engine is maintained. It offers a maximum power of 94.5 hp and a maximum torque of 79 Nm at 7,500 rpm. It has riding modes: Sport, for maximum mechanical response, and ECO, for optimized efficiency.

Its integrated twin-spar chassis made of high-strength steel now features a removable aluminum rear subframe and increased ground clearance to 293 mm. Its 19-liter fuel tank has been repositioned low to promote optimal weight distribution. The rear rack and footrests have been removed.

In the suspension section, it has a 49 mm Yuan inverted fork with a 270 mm travel and a monoshock from the same brand at the rear with a 240 mm travel, both adjustable in preload, extension and compression.

The seat height is 895 mm from the ground, while the wide handlebars with machined aluminum triple clamps and footpegs with removable rubber pads offer a comfortable riding position for off-road riding, whether seated or standing.

The brakes have also been adapted to the off-road approach, now featuring a 310 mm petal-shaped front disc with a two-piston Taisko caliper. At the rear, there's a 240 mm rear disc with a single-piston caliper from the same manufacturer. It features a three-mode switchable ABS system, allowing the rider to use ABS on both wheels, just the front wheel, or completely disengage the system.

And it has spoke wheels and tubed tires in dimensions 90/90 – R21 on the front wheel and 140/80 – R18 on the rear.

All this lightening work allows for a weight of just 157 kg empty and 176 kg in running order (14 kg less than the Pro), making it the lightest and with the best weight-to-power ratio within the mid-to-high-displacement Trail segment.

It features a 7" TFT dashboard with optional connectivity , a dual-port USB/USB-C charging port, and a full LED lighting system. It also features adventurous features such as side bumpers, an aluminum skid plate, and a raised front fender.

The Kove 800X Rally is now available at the brand's Official Dealers with the specific Kove Blue decoration and with a competitive price of €10,699.
