Hybrid, LPG and all-wheel drive: Dacia's new technology mix: Alternative drive with mega range

With the new hybrid drive, which can run on both liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and gasoline, the brand targets customers who value economy, everyday practicality, and versatility. The concept is particularly attractive due to its enormous range of up to 1,500 kilometers and significantly lower operating costs compared to previous models.
The key to this is the combination of mild-hybrid technology, LPG bi-fuel, and all-wheel drive, which is unique within the Renault Group. The new drive system consists of a 1.2-liter 48V mild-hybrid gasoline engine with 103 kW (140 hp) on the front axle and a 23 kW (31 hp) electric motor on the rear axle. Together, both units deliver a system output of 113 kW (154 hp), with the combustion engine contributing 230 Nm and the electric motor up to 87 Nm of torque. The gasoline engine is coupled to a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission with paddle shifters, while the electric motor has a two-speed transmission.
The two-speed transmission of the rear-axle electric motor is designed to deliver higher torque at low speeds, thus ensuring better traction and pulling power, especially off-road. The electric all-wheel drive can remain engaged up to speeds of 140 km/h (87 mph). Various driving modes are also available.
A particularly significant feature is the range of up to 1,500 kilometers, made possible by two 50-liter tanks for gasoline and LPG. According to the manufacturer, drivers can expect around 30 percent lower operating costs in everyday use than with the previous mild-hybrid 130 4x4. At the same time, CO₂ emissions are reduced, making the drive system attractive from an environmental perspective as well.
With fuel consumption figures of 7.2 liters of LPG or 5.6 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers, the system not only offers a cost-effective alternative for frequent drivers, but also positions itself as a response to rising fuel prices. Dacia thus specifically targets customers who value cost control and high everyday usability without sacrificing all-wheel drive technology.
