SEALED UNDER PRESSURE: Ryan Timms

An 18-year-old driver starting on the pole for the biggest sprint car race in the country certainly qualifies as a pressure-packed moment.
Ryan Timms passed the test with flying colors, racing to a dominant victory in the 64 th running of the Knoxville Nationals at Iowa’s Knoxville Raceway.
In his first Knoxville Nationals feature start, Timms became the 28th different winner through 64 runnings of the world’s most famous sprint car race, becoming the second youngest winner in the history of the event behind only Kenny Weld.
Timms earned a whopping $195,000 driving the Leibig Motorsports No. 10. That’s a lot of cash for a teenager.
