Regular-looking Porsche replica on sale for over £2m thanks to remarkable feature

Whilst some motoring enthusiasts have mastered the art of spotting the subtle details behind the world's most exquisite vehicles, there's something about this particular sports car that will remain invisible to virtually everyone.
For decades, Porsche has quietly maintained its position amongst the globe's most esteemed automotive brands, but now the German manufacturer is witnessing a replica variant of one of their machines heading to auction with a starting bid of an eye-watering £2.5 million.
It's probable that only those fortunate enough to have piloted the breathtaking Riviera blue 2021 Ruf CTR Anniversary will understand what distinguishes it from the pack.
Courtesy of its 3.6-litre twin-turbo engine that produces 710bhp, the fortunate buyer will experience a machine capable of reaching an astonishing 213mph.
If that isn't sufficient to entice automotive enthusiasts, this motor represents merely one of 50 in existence and can sprint from nought to 60mph in less than three-and-a-half seconds.
However, it's not solely the vehicle's potent engine that separates it from rivals - it also showcases remarkable craftsmanship both externally and internally.
According to the listing on auctioneers RM Sotheby's website, the car's appointments are described as "uniquely specified", featuring an opulent "Riviera blue" exterior finish.
Peering inside reveals "special black buffalo leather" trim with matching "Riviera blue" threading woven into the stitching.
Meanwhile, the seats showcase "signature 'lollipop' fixed-back Kevlar-carbon and pepita inserts".
Furthermore, the owner's refined taste is evident in his unique requests: "In line with his distinguished taste, the consignor not only ordered this CTR Anniversary in a one-off colourway, but also demanded every carbon fibre option available, as well as the ever-useful front-axle lift system, lightweight doors, Riviera Blue seatbacks, Riviera Blue seatbelts, and a black Alcantara headliner.
"The car's Riviera Blue calipers of its carbon-ceramic brake system are tucked within custom-ordered light alloy wheels finished in Matte Titanium."
The Ruf CTR Anniversary first made waves a few years ago when it was unveiled at the 87th Geneva Motor Show in March 2017.
This stunning Riviera blue Ruf CTR anniversary car pays homage to the original model, which ceased production in 1996 after a run of just 29 cars over nine years.
The vehicle is set to go under the hammer at RM Sotheby's on Saturday (August 16) in Monterey, California, US.
