Iconic second-hand Porsche sportscar available for jaw-droppingly affordable price

Used car buyers could snap up an iconic Porsche for under £10,000 according to a leading second-hand vehicle expert. Jeff Wong, a used car controller at Porsche Centre Bristol, said road users could secure a great Boxster model for the budget price tag.

It could mean putting one of the most popular Porsche models in the reach of many second-hand car buyers. The Boxster is one of the most popular vehicles in Porsche’s recent history, with the model praised for its exceptional handling. Brand new Porsche Boxster models are priced at over £60,000 with many available for as high as £80,000.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, Jeff said: “You’ve got lovely Porsche Boxster's now which have been out since 1986. So you can pick some lovely Boxster’s for that kind of £10,000 mark.

"I think you’ll struggle cheaper than that. If you’re looking at Porsche’s I think you’re going to struggle at £2,500 to £5,000 cars. They will be almost like Cat C’s really for that kind of money because they hold their value so well.”

The 2004-2011 Boxster could produce 315bhp with a top speed of up to 170mph. The model could also reach 0-60mph in just under five seconds.

AutoTrader, the leading new and used car marketplace, has plenty of Boxster models around 100,000 miles for under £8,000.

Vehicles with slightly lower mileage tend to creep just over the £10,000 mark but prices can also vary based on the condition of the model.

However, Jeff stressed buying from an approved Porsche dealer could see owners secure an additional two-year warranty to protect against any issues.

Jeff added: “You can extend the warranty on all Porsche until the car is 15 years old or up to 125,000 miles. So it just gives people great guarantees and peace of mind when they buy a used Porsche.

"They can buy it, bring it into a main dealer and stick a warranty on it, There we go, if the engine pops you’re fully covered.

“Every used car you buy from a Porsche main dealer you will get a two-year minimum warranty with that car.”
