EV drivers in the West Midlands are in for a treat as as a new ultra-rapid charging hub opens. Situated at McArthurGlen West Midlands, it will be offering a week of complimentary charging.

To celebrate the launch, RAW Charging is providing a week of free charging to mark the commencement of its Connecting Amazing Places summer campaign, designed to make days out more convenient and enjoyable for EV drivers throughout the UK.

From Monday, July 21, to Sunday, July 27, all EV drivers can take advantage of no-cost charging at the new facility. The hub has 10 bays, including two priority bays, and offers contactless payment methods.

While their vehicles are being charged, drivers can explore over 65 designer outlets, as well as various cafés and restaurants.

RAW Charging has expressed that the completion of this site "reinforces RAW's long-term partnership with McArthurGlen Group, which has seen the installation of more than 385 EV charging bays across the group's UK and European portfolio". This West Midlands venture represents the culmination and the final UK location to become operational.

The West Midlands hub is part of a broader national campaign taking place across RAW's network from mid-July to August, showcasing RAW's expanding presence at some of the UK's most beloved retail, leisure and hospitality spots.

Jason Simpson, CEO of RAW Charging, said: "We're thrilled to bring our West Midlands destination online to complete the broader programme with McArthurGlen. This activation reinforces RAW's role as a key infrastructure partner for retail locations across Europe.

"To celebrate the launch and the start of our Summer of Connecting Amazing Places campaign, we're offering a week of free charging - helping drivers experience just how easy and enjoyable sustainable travel can be."

David Jackson, UK facilities lead and McArthurGlen West Midlands centre manager, said: "This project is another great example of RAW's ability to deliver high-impact solutions for everyday destinations. As EV ownership grows, it's essential that infrastructure grows with it - and this new West Midlands hub is designed to make sustainable driving simple for local communities and visitors alike."
