The Japanese are building a motorcycle factory in Izmir.

Honda Turkey has decided to invest in a new motorcycle factory in the Aliağa district of Izmir to support growth in the motorcycle market and increase global motorcycle sales. The COVID-19 pandemic, coupled with increased individual and corporate transportation needs, has led to significant growth in the Turkish motorcycle market. As a result of these developments, Honda Turkey set a record for annual motorcycle sales of 162,000 units in 2024.

Honda plans to begin motorcycle production at the facility it will build in Izmir in mid-2026. The facility will begin with an annual production capacity of 100,000 motorcycles, with the goal of increasing this capacity to 200,000 units annually in the future.

The total investment for the facility, which is being prepared for production in a large area of 100,000 square meters, is set at 760 million lira, and it is envisaged that approximately 300 people will be employed there.

With its factory investments, Honda Türkiye aims to achieve sustainable growth in the motorcycle market and support the development of motorcycle culture in Türkiye.

In addition, Honda aims to strengthen regional production and offer high-quality, accessible and attractive products to consumers.
