New vehicles were evaluated in 10 different categories: The brands that caused the most problems were determined

With developing technology, automobile manufacturers come up with more innovations every year. However, technical problems and user complaints seen in zero-mileage vehicles are causing question marks in the sector. The problems experienced especially in 2025 model vehicles have reached remarkable dimensions.

Automotive research company JD Power has published an important report on new vehicles. In the survey conducted with 92,694 users and tenants, 2025 model year new vehicles were evaluated in 10 different categories. These included areas such as infotainment systems, driving experience, interior and exterior design, seats, driver assistance and air conditioning.

MORE PROBLEMS ARE DETECTED IN HIGH-TECH LUXURY MODELS

High-tech luxury models in particular are proving to be more problematic, said Frank Hanley, senior director of J.D. Power. Complex systems can be distracting and negatively impact the user experience while driving, he said.

The report says that the abundance of in-car controls puts drivers in a difficult position. In particular, functions such as climate control and garage door openers are tiring for users to perform with a few screen swipes. Hanley explains this situation as follows:

“Drivers have to perform a lot of touch operations to perform even a simple action. This leads to distraction.”

In addition, details such as the complexity of the infotainment screens and the location of small cup holders are among the issues that users complain about the most.

THE LEADING BRAND'S HARD FALL WAS SURPRISING

The Ram Trucks brand, which was at the top last year, experienced a serious decline in the rankings in 2025 and fell to the last place on the list. Ram, which was in first place in 2024 and fell to 7th place this year, was the most striking result of the research.

THE 10 BRANDS WITH THE MOST PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED

As part of JD Power’s “First Quality Study,” the brands with the most complaints in 2025 were listed as follows:

The PP100 score represents the number of complaints per 100 vehicles. A higher score indicates more problems for the brand.

TECHNOLOGY: COMFORT OR COMPLEXITY?

As the pace of technology race in the automotive world increases, it is of great importance that these innovations are user-friendly. JD Power's data reveals that consumer expectations and manufacturer preferences do not always match. Complex technologies, especially those that put driving safety at risk, can cause brands to fail in customer satisfaction.
