November marks the beginning of a new chapter in the automotive sector. With the reduction of additional tariffs on vehicles manufactured in China and the US, a significant price drop is expected.

🚗 NEW TAX REGULATION TO COME INTO ACTION IN NOVEMBER
The new tax system for car imports comes into effect on November 22. Under the regulation, additional customs duties will be increased for Japanese cars, while tax rates will be reduced for vehicles imported from the US and China.
For vehicles of US origin: The additional tax rate will be reduced from 70 percent to 35 percent.
For vehicles of Chinese origin: The additional tax rate will be reduced from 50 percent to 30 percent.
This change will lead to significant price reductions for some imported vehicles sold in Türkiye. This will create a competitive advantage, particularly for Chinese manufacturers.
🇨🇳 A WAVE OF HUGE DISCOUNTS FROM CHINESE BRANDS
Prices are expected to drop due to lower customs duties on conventional (internal combustion) cars manufactured in China. Gasoline models from brands like Chery, MG, and BYD, which have seen sales growth in Turkey in recent years, are expected to see discounts of 25 to 35 percent.
There may be a significant decrease in the prices of SUV models such as Chery Tiggo 7 Pro and Omoda 5 .
A similar discount is expected for models such as the MG ZS and MG 4 .
There will be a discount area for the BYD Dolphin and Atto 3 models, especially the internal combustion and hybrid versions.
With these discounts, Chinese brands are expected to increase their sales volumes in Türkiye.
🇺🇸 DISCOUNTS EXPECTED ON USA-MADE MODELS TOO
Ford and Tesla brand vehicles manufactured in the US will also be affected by the regulation.
Tesla is currently shipping Model Y to Turkey from its Berlin factory , so no direct discounts are foreseen for this model.
However, if vehicles such as the Tesla Model S and Model X produced in the USA are imported, prices could decrease by 25-30 percent.
A similar price drop is expected for Ford's electric vehicles, such as the Mustang Mach-E .
For US-based brands, this tax reduction could create an opportunity to enter the Turkish market with new models.
💸 EXPECTED RATE OF DECLINE IN PRICES
It is estimated that as a result of the change in additional customs duties, car prices may decrease by an average of 25 to 35 percent .
The price of a vehicle currently sold at 2 million TL may drop to approximately 1.4 - 1.5 million TL.
This decline is expected to be felt especially in mid-segment SUVs and electric vehicles .
Industry experts say that with the tax regulation coming into effect at the end of November, there may be a net decrease in labels in December .
