Munich-based BMW has been working on hydrogen fuel technologies for nearly 10 years. The company's first serious step in this field was the iX5 Hydrogen concept, a prototype of which was previously shown. BMW officials told the automotive press Driving Hydrogen that they plan to officially launch a hydrogen-powered SUV based on the X5 by 2028.

Like electric vehicles, hydrogen-powered cars offer environmentally friendly solutions. However, their biggest advantage is that they can be refueled quickly, just like gasoline-powered vehicles. Furthermore, these vehicles emit only water vapor while driving.
