"I think it's time to put an end to these rumors, it's quite clear to me that I will continue," Verstappen told reporters at the Hungaroring circuit, where the Hungarian Grand Prix will take place next weekend.
Doubts over the Dutchman's continued presence at Red Bull have been growing in recent weeks, after he failed to clearly demonstrate his intention to remain with his current team and at a time when the team is struggling to respond to McLaren's dominance in the World Championship.
"I hadn't said anything about it yet because I was solely focused on improving our performance with the team, on ideas for the future and next year," he explained.
At 27 years old, Verstappen is contractually tied to Red Bull until 2028, and is currently third in the drivers' championship, just behind the two McLaren drivers, Australian Oscar Piastri, leader, and Briton Lando Norris, second.
While at Red Bull, Max Verstappen won 65 Grand Prix and four Drivers' World Championships (2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024).
