Toyota broke sales records in Europe through September. Here are the numbers.

Between January and September, Toyota Motor Europe sold 930,452 cars in Europe . This is a new record for this period in Europe and a two percent increase compared to 2024.

Data released this Monday shows that not only Toyota, but also Lexus, had new sales records: Toyota sold 865,401 vehicles in the first nine months of the year and remains second in the European rankings.

Added to these are 117,410 cars from Toyota Professional , which increased 20 percent compared to 2024, and another 65,051 cars from Lexus , which increased two percent.

Electrified vehicles are more sought after

The figures also show that Toyota Motor Europe's sales of electrified vehicles grew by five percent and now represent 77 percent of sales (716,990 units).

Hybrids remain the most popular in this regard, although sales of all-electric cars grew 41 percent. Plug-in hybrids saw an impressive 209 percent increase.

By brand, Toyota sold five percent more electrified vehicles (655,556), representing 76 percent of total sales in Europe. Lexus sold seven percent more electrified vehicles in the first nine months of this year, up seven percent. They represented 94 percent of sales.

Best-selling models

Considering individual Toyota Motor Europe models, the best-selling was the Yaris Cross (151,494 units), followed by the Yaris with 129,085 and the Corolla range with 116,406.

The Yaris Cross was overwhelmingly sought after for its hybrid version, which sold 151,488 cars. The same is true for the Yaris hybrid (128,603).

As for Lexus , the best-selling models were the LBX Hybrid (21,162 units), the NX (13,336), and the UX (7,067). The hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions accounted for 19,103 of the NX's sales, while the hybrid and electric UX accounted for all of Lexus's sales of that model.

Toyota Motor Europe operates in all markets in Western, Central and Eastern Europe, Israel and Türkiye, as well as Kazakhstan in Central Asia.
