Chevrolet Onix 2026 complete costs less than intermediate Kwid on sale

The 2026 Onix has only been on sale for a few months, but it's already on sale. The hatchback, which features a new front end, retouched taillights and wheels, and a new interior, has reduced prices across virtually the entire lineup in a campaign Chevrolet calls "Mega Sales." It runs until September 30th, or while supplies last.

One of the biggest reductions is the price of the Onix 1.0, currently the entry-level version of the hatchback, but already quite complete. From a full price of R$99,990, it now costs R$15,000 with a bonus, bringing it to R$84,990. That's less than what Renault charges for a Kwid Iconic, the mid-range version of the subcompact (R$85,200). The Chevrolet, in addition to being larger and more spacious, offers a larger trunk, more equipment, and a more powerful engine.

This Onix configuration uses the 1.0-liter naturally aspirated three-cylinder engine, producing 80/82 hp of power with 10.2/10.6 mkgf of torque (gas/eta), combined with a six-speed manual transmission. Officially, the brand claims a 12.9-second 0-100 km/h time, with a top speed of 176 km/h, both measured with ethanol.

Fuel consumption, as reported by Inmetro, is 9.5 km/l in the city and 11.3 km/l on the highway with ethanol, or 13.5 km/l in the city and 16.3 km/l on the highway with gasoline. Thanks to the 44-liter tank, its range can reach 717 km under optimal conditions.

The standard equipment package includes 6 airbags, twilight sensor, emergency braking alert, electric adjustments for the exterior mirrors, color-keyed door handles, 15-inch wheels with diamond-cut hubcaps, air conditioning, multifunction steering wheel adjustable in height and depth, speed limiter, proximity key with push-button start, electric windows on all four doors, 8-inch multimedia system with wireless connections, OnStar concierge, on-board internet, and so on.

The New Onix models on sale are 2025/2026 and feature Boreal Blue (a metallic navy blue). They also come with a five-year factory warranty, provided all maintenance has been performed at the dealership.
