BYD announces more than 500 job openings after starting operations at factory in Bahia

On Tuesday, the 1st, Chinese manufacturer BYD officially began operations at its factory in Brazil. Located in Camaçari (BA), it occupies the space that belonged to Ford until 2021, and will now produce the 100% electric subcompact hatchback Dolphin Mini, in addition to the plug-in hybrids King (sedan) and Song Pro (SUV). Still in the testing phase, the plant is scheduled to open in the coming weeks.

For now, the production capacity is 150,000 cars per year, but there are plans to double this number (300,000/year) in the future, which could reach 600,000/year. And it is for these and other reasons that BYD is hiring people to join its team of employees in Camaçari.
