Import boom: Audi launched the new A5 sedan at the same price as in Germany.

Audi launched one of the most anticipated models in the premium segment: the new A5 sedan , a natural replacement for a classic of classics: the famous A4.
Be careful not to confuse this car with the previous A5 , which came in coupe, convertible, and Sportback body styles. However, if you look closely, its fastback design makes it look more like the latter than the traditional A4 with its three distinct bodies (hood, cabin, and trunk).
Its name has a reason for being. Audi recently decided to change the nomenclature of its models , assigning odd numbers to vehicles powered by combustion engines and even numbers to electric vehicles.
Although, considering that hybrid versions can cause confusion about whether they go with odd or even numbers, the brand is expected to change its names soon. Yes, once again.
Unlike the A4, the model it replaces, the tailgate has a fastback style drop.
Beyond the details, what's important to know is that the new A5 arrives at a good time for the sector, with Audi dominating with 40% of the volume of the three German brands (the others being BMW and Mercedes-Benz).
For Conrado Wittstatt, president of Audi Argentina, while the market is showing a clear recovery, "it is still far from the historic figures we were able to manage."
However, the executive emphasized that thanks to the new policies, "we can once again purchase merchandise from our parent companies and enjoy a more normal business environment. All of this is being supported by the parent company, which offers us the opportunity and incentive to have more competitive prices in line with most countries around the world."
And in that context, the brand launched the new A5, with the unique feature that the entry-level version (A5 Sedan TFSi Advance) costs practically the same as in Germany. Its price here is $68,100 , while in the German market it is offered at $67,800.
The Audi A5 Sedan measures 4.83 meters long, 1.86 meters wide and 1.44 meters high.
The range is completed by the A5 Sedan TFSi S-Line Quattro, which costs $89,900 .
At first glance, the new A5 has a sportier, more ground-hugging silhouette. The grille is wider and lower, accompanied by sharply designed LED headlights and three-dimensional air intakes.
From the side, the recessed, capacitive door handles and waist-rail-mounted mirrors stand out. From the rear, the most striking feature is the sharply sloping tailgate, which makes it look more like a five-door than a sedan.
The central screen faces the driver. The S-Line version adds a third screen on the passenger side.
It also has the unique feature that the trunk connects to the passenger compartment, a feature that does not occur in traditional sedans such as the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and even the Audi A4 itself.
Inside, the new design language is complemented by a 14.5” curved screen facing the driver, accompanied by an 11.9” digital instrument panel (virtual cockpit). The S-Line Quattro version incorporates a third 10.9” touchscreen for the passenger, allowing the navigation, entertainment and telephone functions to be operated independently.
The LED ambient lighting can be configured in up to 30 colors, while the new features include a panoramic roof with adjustable transparency and touch controls integrated into the doors.
Unlike traditional sedans, the trunk is connected to the passenger compartment in this A5.
Continuing with the equipment, it offers standard driving assistance systems such as autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, blind spot warning, 18″ alloy wheels, full LED headlights, electric tailgate, wireless charger, electrically adjustable front sports seats and tri-zone climate control, among others.
The S-Line variant adds a sport suspension, 19″ wheels, a fixed panoramic roof, keyless entry and start, and heated seats with memory.
Both versions offer the 2.0 turbocharged engine that offers power outputs of 204 horsepower (Advance) and 272 horsepower (S-Line), associated with a 7-speed S tronic automatic transmission.
