Hummer EV, the power of silence

Electromobility is part of General Motors' commitment to a more environmentally friendly future. Therefore, the automotive group introduced the Hummer EV as the first electric vehicle from the GMC brand. In 2024, this legendary name arrived in the Mexican market in SUV and pickup formats. It also incorporates GM's Ultium platform, which provides the flexibility to adapt the Hummer EV to a 20-module battery pack in the SUV version and a 24-module battery pack in the pickup version. Another highlight is energy recovery, as an 11-minute fast charge adds 160 kilometers of range.

The GMC Hummer EV uses three electric motors, which in synchronization, deliver a power of 850 hp in the SUV version and 1,000 hp in the pickup model. Both variants have 11,500 lb-ft of torque. On and off the road, the Hummer EV delivers a high level of efficiency and performance. The pickup version has a range of up to 590 kilometers and offers a payload capacity of 590 kg and a towing capacity of 3,856 kilograms. It also accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.0 seconds thanks to the Watts to Freedom function. Despite its large dimensions, the Hummer EV is highly maneuverable thanks to the CrabWalk system, which allows the front and rear wheels to turn in the same direction up to 10 degrees at low speeds, allowing it to move diagonally to overcome any obstacle.

On the outside, it maintains its 1980s essence with futuristic and modern features. Highlights include the Infinity Roof, a panoramic roof with four removable panels for open-air driving, a set of 18- or 22-inch wheels, LED lighting, as well as tow hooks and the Hummer name on the grille. The cabin is inspired by a space theme and features a 13.4-inch infotainment system with wireless connectivity and a premium Bose® Surround Sound system with 14 speakers. It adds Google Auto, 18 camera views highlighting underbody shots, and the OnStar® system with security services and Wi-Fi. The GMC Hummer returns to Mexico in electric format with a price starting at $2,999,000 pesos for the SUV version, and the Pick-up body style starting at $3,299,000 pesos.

- It has five driving modes: Normal, Off-Road, Terrain, Tow and Custom.- With the Extract Mode function, the body can be raised up to 15 cm by means of an adaptive suspension.- Inside, it adds a 12.4-inch instrument panel.- It adds automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, among other systems.
