Xiaomi reveals YU7 SUV pricing in China, SU7 sedan special series confirmed

Xiaomi has started official sales of its first YU7 in China, with a starting price of 253,500 RMB. The car, unveiled at the end of last year, exhibits a style strongly inspired by that of the Ferrari Purosa and is available in three versions: Standard, Pro and Max. These names leverage Xiaomi's world of origin: smartphones. After all, the announcement of the car in its final form and ready for delivery came together with the launch of new devices, foldable smartphones and new smartwatches. And this, after months of half-announcements and reveals in bits and pieces, tailor-made to be fed to social media, especially TikTok, and generate a viral hype about the car

Xiaomi YU7 Standard is the long-range rear-wheel drive version (760 km for the Chinese homologation cycle) and costs 253,500 RMB. YU7 Pro is the all-wheel drive version variant and the price list starts at 280 thousand RMB, while the YU7 max is the top of the range all-wheel drive and costs 330,000 RMB. The price list in practice ranges between 33 thousand and 40 thousand euros. However, it makes no sense to make a comparison with prices in Europe for tax reasons, pricing policies and compliance with regulations. No. Xiaomi did not invent the super electric SUV that costs the same as a small lithium-ion one . Prices here will be much higher but in any case Xiaomi in this way challenges both Tesla, with which it openly competes, and its compatriot Byd. And the Beijing-based company has an ecosystem of digital devices and a great reputation in this world, but in the automotive world it still has to conquer it and perhaps the reels on TikTok and the records on the track aren't enough.

Deliveries in China will begin at the end of June. It is not yet if and when the car will be available in Europe, a bit like what happened with the Su7 sedan. Speaking of the latter, Xiaomi today announced the official launch on the market and the start of deliveries of the Ultra variant, which includes two high-performance variants: one dedicated to the track and called “Track Package” and the other that celebrates the speed record at the Nordschleife with a lap time of 7:04.957 and obviously called Nürburgring Limited Edition
