Subaru, three new electric vehicles coming soon, exclusively for Europe.

Subaru plans to launch three new electric models for Europe in 2026. The Japanese brand's core market is the United States, where it sells approximately 700,000 vehicles annually. In Europe, its other strategic market, the Japanese brand registers approximately 30,000 units annually. However, given that the US market already accounts for 75% of sales and domestic manufacturers dominate China, the decision to remain in Europe is the only challenge capable of guaranteeing Subaru's presence on global markets well into the future. To focus on Europe, it was necessary to expand its offering of electric models.

If Subaru's goal is to increase global sales from approximately 976,000 last year to approximately 1.2 million by 2030, it needed to sell more electric vehicles, which are expected to account for about half of global sales estimates. Hence the decision to focus on three EV models: the Solterra, recently revised in terms of performance and range; the new e-Outback, known as the Trailseeker in other markets; and, finally, the latest addition, the Uncharted, based on the Toyota C-HR. All three electric vehicles will be released next year at prices yet to be determined.

The three models are based on the same platform, the e-Subaru Global Platform, developed in collaboration with Toyota and featuring larger batteries than current ones, and boasting off-road capabilities thanks to modifications to the suspension and chassis. It's no coincidence that the new all-wheel drive system, one of the strengths of all Subaru models, distributes torque between the two axles much more quickly, resulting in improved cornering grip and better traction on snow and ice. The new Uncharted, set to become the flagship model of the EV offering, was built, as mentioned, on the Toyota C-HR.

Built on the basis of Toyota's C-HR sporty crossover, recently significantly restyled, the Uncharted differs from the Toyota version in its headlights and front and rear bumpers, which give it a more aggressive look than the original. The Uncharted is 4.52 meters long, 17 meters less than the Solterra, with a wheelbase of 2.75 meters, in addition to a trunk with a capacity of 416 liters. On board, the same 14-inch screen is featured as the C-HR: only the steering wheel is Subaru. In the imposing central tunnel, in addition to the drive mode selector and driving mode selector, there are charging ports for two smartphones.
The entire range of Subaru's new flagship electric model in Europe will feature the All-Weather package as standard, which includes 18-inch wheels, heated seats, an electric tailgate, and ambient lighting. The top-of-the-line model will be designated the GT, which will include a panoramic sunroof, 20-inch wheels, and a Harman Kardom audio system as standard. The Uncharted will also be offered in two variants: a front-wheel drive version with a maximum output of 224 hp, or a dual-motor version with all-wheel drive and a massive 343 hp. Both variants utilize a 74.7 kWh battery for a range of up to 480 km.
