Scorpion All Season SF3, Pirelli launches the SUV evolution of the Cinturato

ROME - Transferring the characteristics of the award-winning Cinturato All Season SF3 to the specific needs of SUVs with an all-season tire. With this objective, Pirelli has launched the new Scorpion All Season SF3, developed specifically for “high-riding” vehicles, and characterized by safety and versatility in different weather conditions. The entire range at launch is distinguished by the “Class A” on the European label for wet grip and performance on snow is recognized by the 3PMSF marking, which distinguishes tires capable of passing the tests required by law in severe winter conditions. Comfort is also not lacking, with the range included in the B class for noise on the European label and in classes A and B for rolling resistance, for long-lasting performance and reduced emissions.

To meet the typical characteristics of SUVs, specific adaptations and technological solutions have been introduced, such as, for example, reinforced tread blocks, with an increased size and a progressive entry geometry into the footprint. The tread design has the adaptive structure adopted by the Cinturato All Season SF3, composed of 3D sipes that, as the tread wears, change their shape. The compound used in the Scorpion All Season SF3, on the other hand, balances rigidity, stability and promptness of response of the tire at high temperatures, improving grip in the winter season, thanks to the introduction of innovative materials, such as a new mix of polymers with specific microstructures, capable of ensuring high mobility at low temperatures. New resins of natural origin have also been used, which favor grip on cold surfaces, and liquid polymers that improve performance on snow, without compromising performance on wet surfaces. The new Scorpion All Season SF3 is available in sizes from 17 to 21 inches, with Elect marking, which identifies tires equipped with technological solutions capable of enhancing the characteristics of Bev and Phev vehicles, and with the Noise Cancelling System solution to reduce the noise generated by the rolling of the tire.
