MotoGP still slows down with Brembo: it will supply every component to all the teams

The 2025 MotoGP World Championship is upon us and there is already one certainty: Brembo will once again be the supplier of braking systems for all 22 prototypes in the race. The Bergamo-based company will assist the teams by guaranteeing every component, from calipers to brake discs, from brake and clutch pumps to pads. This is the tenth consecutive year in which all the bikes on the grid will enjoy this support. And still on the subject of important milestones, Brembo will celebrate 50 years in Motorsport, in addition to being the Braking Inspiration Partner of MotoGP since 2023 and Title Sponsor of the Italian GP at Mugello, as in 2024.
Brembo will also take care of clutches, rims and suspensions. These components will be produced by companies of the Italian group. Nine of the 11 teams in MotoGP will mount Ohlins suspensions, a brand recently acquired by Brembo. Five teams will use carbon clutches from AP Racing. Furthermore, nine teams will be equipped by Marchesini, which makes forged magnesium rims, available in the 5 Y-spoke or 7-spoke configuration for both the front and rear. The innovations also concern the braking system. Riders will have different carbon solutions available to adapt to their riding style. Among the most popular choices is the finned disc, which facilitates greater heat dissipation, with an operating temperature between 250° and 850°. All the protagonists of MotoGP will also be able to choose two types of caliper: on the one hand the GP4, present on the grid since 2020, on the other the new 2025, with a weight of just over 0.8 kg. An option that ensures better performance and even more precise control. Thanks to better heat resistance, an oversized pad and a reinforced caliper wheelbase.
Brembo will also assist the teams competing in the lower classes of the MotoGP. The Italian brand will supply calipers to all teams and pumps to 90% of the Moto2 and Moto3 teams. The same goes for the pads, available to 80% of the teams. Less than 30%, however, will rely on Marchesini rims. The percentage is slightly higher for the steel discs, available in two versions, finned or standard, with an operating temperature between 100° and 650° in both classes. In Moto3 the weight is around 0.5kg, while in Moto2 it reaches 1.3kg. The Moto2 and Moto3 will also mount the Brembo finned caliper, which is reminiscent of the GP4 present in MotoGP.
