Michelin invents all-season tires for high-performance cars

The real revolution, however, comes with the Michelin CrossClimate 3 Sport, a one-of-a-kind product that opens up a new market segment: that of all-season sports tires. Ideal for high-performance cars up to 300 hp, including hybrid and electric vehicles, the CrossClimate 3 Sport is the perfect choice for those who don't want to sacrifice sportiness even in the winter months, as they have no specific needs during the coldest months. The CrossClimate 3 Sport earns an A-Class in wet braking performance, with a 6% improvement over the CrossClimate 3, and promises optimal dynamic handling thanks to Michelin Dynamic Response technology (derived from motorsports) with a more direct response to steering inputs. The CrossClimate 3 Sport is available in 29 sizes (18”–21”), with an extension planned up to 23” by 2026. Among its special features: the velvety “Premium Touch” sidewall with a checkered flag.
CrossClimate 3: The new generation for everyone. The Michelin CrossClimate 3 updates the CrossClimate 2 and sets a new benchmark in all-season tires. Designed for a wide range of cars and SUVs, including hybrid and electric vehicles, the CrossClimate 3 stands out for its safety in all conditions, with a 4% improvement in wet braking performance (now classified as Class B on the European label); mileage (+15%); lower rolling resistance (optimized energy efficiency also for electric vehicles); and availability in 63 sizes, from 16 to 22 inches. The technologies behind these performances include a "V" channel design for effective water drainage, an intelligent compound that adapts to varying temperatures and conditions, reduced noise, and even force distribution for longer life.
Both new tires are produced entirely in Europe, including at the Michelin plant in Cuneo, the Group's flagship for innovation and quality. This confirms Michelin's commitment to contributing to the industrial development of Italy.
All Michelin tires – including the new CrossClimate – are also suitable for electric vehicles, a strategic choice in line with the evolution of the automotive market and environmental needs.
The CrossClimate 3 maintains the same price positioning as the CrossClimate 2, while the CrossClimate 3 Sport carries an indicative 4 percent premium. Michelin's winter offering now includes three all-season tires and three winter tires. Each tire carries the M+S and 3PMSF markings, certifying its suitability for use even in severe winter conditions.
