Jorge Martin's ordeal: He doesn't even race in Germany. New tests in a week

Jorge Martin will have to wait even longer before taking part in a MotoGP race. Struggling with the injury suffered in Qatar, the Aprilia rider seemed ready to return to the Sachsenring, home of the German Grand Prix. However, the defending champion has not received the green light for the eleventh round, scheduled for July 11-13. In fact, the Aprilia team has announced that Martin's physical recovery is currently insufficient to allow him to race. Therefore, the stoppage will last at least another two weeks.
Today, Monday 30 June, Jorge underwent some medical checks in Barcelona, at the Hospital Universitario Dexeus. Doctor Xavier Mir analyzed the healing of the scaphoid, finding “good clinical progress, with practically complete mobility of the range of motion”. However, the recovery is still long: “The consolidation is not 100%, the process is positive despite the repair not being complete”. Instead, Doctor Angel Charte observed how the healing of the rib fractures is proceeding: “Significant evolution of the fracture sites in the majority of the left rib lesions. Despite the notable evolution, some are not complete. Very positive evolution, it is believed that two more weeks are needed for a definitive recovery”. Martin will undergo a new check-up program in approximately seven days. An important test also to evaluate his possible presence in a private test, with the aim of returning to his RS-GP fully recovered.
Jorge dreamed of a 2025 as a protagonist, ready to show off the number 1 on his Aprilia, symbol of the world title he won a year ago with Ducati Pramac. Instead, the Spaniard is experiencing a tormented journey. On February 5, during winter tests in Malaysia, a highside cost him fractures to his right hand and left foot. Another injury on February 24: training with a supermotard, Martin suffered a second fall that caused a second fracture, this time to the left scaphoid. Jorge missed the first three rounds, making his debut with Aprilia in Qatar, on April 11. Two days later, during the Grand Prix, the Spaniard fell, suffering a hemopneumothorax and multiple rib fractures. A real ordeal. Furthermore, as if that were not enough, there are also delicate decisions to make. Martin, in fact, seems intent on leaving the Aprilia team by taking advantage of a clause in the contract. Divorce, however, remains a hypothesis for the moment.
