Marc Marquez wins his twelfth sprint race of the season

Marc Marquez has just overtaken his brother Alex and is flying to victory.
Spaniard Marc Marquez (Ducati), leader of the MotoGP world championship, won the sprint race of the Austrian Grand Prix on Saturday, the 13th round of the season, ahead of his brother Alex Marquez (Ducati-Gresini).
Spaniard Pedro Acosta (KTM) completed the top three in this 14-lap race. Starting from pole position at the Red Bull Ring, Italian Marco Bezzecchi finished fourth on his Aprilia.
The day's biggest loser, Italy's two-time world champion Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), has retired. Starting third on the grid, the Italian completely bungled his start, dropping to 14th place in the first few hundred meters of the race.
Unable to move up the rankings, Bagnaia threw in the towel midway through the race. The reason for his retirement is not yet known.
In the riders' championship, Marc Marquez, winner of 12 of the 13 sprints contested since the start of the season, now has a lead of 123 points over his younger brother Alex, a gap that rises to 180 points with the third-placed rider, his Ducati teammate Bagnaia.
