Ferrari continues the adventure with Frédéric Vasseur

Frédéric Vasseur will continue at the helm of Ferrari.
Frenchman Frédéric Vasseur has extended his contract at the helm of the Ferrari team for several years, the Italian Formula 1 team announced in a press release on Thursday.
Having become the Scuderia boss in 2023, the experienced manager was at the heart of rumors, with the Italian press predicting he would leave due to a disappointing first half of the season. The Frenchman had been publicly supported by his drivers, Monaco's Charles Leclerc and Britain's Lewis Hamilton.
On Thursday, Ferrari ended the uncertainty by extending Vasseur's contract as team principal "for the coming Formula 1 seasons."
“Today we want to recognize what has been built and fully commit to what remains to be accomplished,” Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna said in the statement. “This reflects our confidence in Fred’s leadership—a confidence based on shared ambition, mutual expectations, and a clear sense of responsibility.”
While Ferrari still holds the record for the most constructors' world championship titles, the last one was in 2008, and the fans are getting impatient. The last victory for the drivers in red dates back to 2007 with Kimi Raikkonen.
"Grateful for the trust" Ferrari has placed in him, Vasseur spoke of the "challenge" that awaits him after having "laid solid foundations" during his first 30 months at the helm. Vasseur now wants to "take the next step together" and "meet the expectations" of Ferrari's fans and management.
But the 2025 title already seems certain for McLaren, who have been ultra-dominant this year: Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris are several points ahead of the competition. Leclerc and Hamilton are only 5th and 6th in the constructors' standings. In the constructors' standings, Ferrari is second, but McLaren is out of reach with a 268-point lead.
