Eight-time French world champion Sébastien Ogier (Toyota) is in sixth place, almost twenty seconds behind the leader, and will have to work hard to secure another podium this season .
World Championship leader Ott Tänak (Hyundai), who was leading after the first special stage on Thursday, had to open the road on Friday and dropped back to eighth position after losing more than a minute to Rovanperä, virtually losing all hope of victory.
On Saturday, eight special stages representing 142.16 timed kilometers are on the program for the busiest day of the event.
