These are the tires your electric car should have: "Please don't put on regular tires."

Electric cars are becoming increasingly important in urban and interurban mobility in Spain, and plug-in vehicles are more present on the roads than ever before. Although many are already familiar with this type of vehicle, there are still some concepts that owners don't consider, such as which tires to use.
The vast majority of electric vehicle drivers believe that special tires aren't necessary for these cars, but the reality is quite different, as one mechanic explained in a TikTok video. In the post, the professional warns all owners of these cars that conventional compounds are not suitable, and that other types of tires should be used.
The ideal tires for electric cars
In response to a follower's question, the mechanic warns all electric car drivers: "Please don't use regular tires," he says, something that may surprise many users who have these types of vehicles in their garages. This isn't just a whim of the professional, though, as the reason why conventional tires shouldn't be installed on plug-in vehicles is quite important.
The reason it's not advisable to run regular tires on an electric car is that the output motor's power is enormous, which ultimately destroys the tread compound's knobs . This can affect the tires' grip, which in turn increases the risk of losing control of the car, especially when driving in adverse weather conditions. Therefore, whenever possible, avoid using these types of tires.
So, if standard compounds shouldn't be installed, what should be used in electric cars? The mechanic himself gives the answer. The professional states that "it's best to fit specific tires," but the problem with these tires is that they're more expensive than usual. Therefore, wheel manufacturers have launched a "hybrid tire," a cross between a conventional tire and a special tire.
As shown in the publication, the way to identify these tires is to check if they have a logo on the sidewall with the letters 'EV', meaning 'electric vehicle', which also has a lightning bolt symbol so drivers can ensure that they can be fitted to both electric and hybrid and combustion-engine vehicles.
