One Civil Guard officer dead and another seriously injured in a traffic accident in Jerez

A Civil Guard officer died and another was seriously injured this Friday in a traffic accident in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz).

According to the Civil Guard, the accident, which occurred at 11:40 a.m., occurred after the official vehicle was hit by a car while they were providing assistance during a traffic incident on the N-IV highway, at kilometer 633, in the municipality of Jerez de la Frontera.

The accident occurred on the aforementioned road towards Cadiz, when a patrol from the Jerez Traffic Detachment was attending an incident on the road , at which time a vehicle violently collided with the patrol car, causing the death of officer Carlos Francisco BG and serious injuries to first corporal David GI, who was rushed to the Jerez Hospital.

The deceased Civil Guard officer, Carlos Francisco BG, was married and had two young children . Civil Guard and medical services, including a helicopter, responded to the scene to treat the victims.
