An 86-year-old woman who was hit by a scooter two months ago in Mataró dies.

An 86-year- old woman who was hit by a scooter almost two months ago while crossing a pedestrian crossing in Mataró (Barcelona) has died in the hospital where she was being treated, although it remains to be seen whether her death is directly linked to the accident.

According to local media Capgrós on Friday, and municipal sources confirmed to EFE , once the hospital certified the woman's death , the city council notified the court handling the case, which will be responsible for ordering the necessary investigations to determine whether the death was a direct consequence of the accident .

The incident occurred at 1:43 p.m. on April 24, when the elderly woman was crossing a pedestrian crossing, taking advantage of the fact that the traffic light was green, at the intersection of Miquel Biada and Francesc Macià streets, in Mataró .

A scooter that ignored the pedestrian crossing hit the woman, prompting Mataró local police to identify the driver and file a complaint against him in court for causing minor injuries due to negligence.
